So its been a week since we found out that my fiance was not accepted into the Air Force for the last board. At first he was devastated and wasn't interested in reapplying during the next board but, as time went on he seemed to have changed his mind. He also looked into the Coast Guard which sounds pretty interesting, I'm just not convinced that he is really into that idea...I think its Air Force all the way! We decided to take a weekend vacation to Santa Barbara with a few of our friends to relax after all the bad news. Aside from the intense traffic and arguing that was going on the entire way up there... IT WAS AWESOME! I am a big Sublime fan so it was pretty cool to see them with their new lead singer Rome live with Iration and Cage The Elephant. There were few funny things about the show, the lead singer from Cage The Elephant yelled out "Thank you Santa Monica." we were in Santa Barbara...and the second was that Rome was wearing a tight tank and his gut was hanging over his guitar...not as epic as the thanking Santa Monica while in Santa Barbara...but pretty nasty! Now its back to the real world and I think my body is requesting that I get a bit more sleep...

My fiance and I have been engaged for a few months now and are set to be married on February 19th 2011. He made the decision to apply for an Officer position in the United States Air Force a few month before we were engaged. I personally thought the idea was ridiculous, why would the man who says he loves me want to do something where he would have to be away from me for long periods of time? After a few days I got over the initial shock and decided if this was what he wanted to do with himself I was going to be the most supportive future officers wife anyone had ever seen! And I was! I helped him with all of his paperwork made sure he had everything together days before he needed to have it turned in. We were sure that there were not going to be any complications. My fiance had above average scores, above average GPA, perfect physical seemed to be a dead ringer for this position in the Air Force. The application process took forever to complete and the day we all had been waiting for had finally arrived. The day we find out the boards decision...he didn't make it. We were both devestated and felt like the world had just looked us over without second thought. Which brings us to now. The board has informed us that we can go through the entire application process again in 180 days. I have decided to blog about the experiences, up and downs, and results with everyone as we attempt to achieve Our America Dream.
